François 1st confiscates it to the heir of the Beaujeu, the "connétable" of Bourbon, for disloyalty in 1523.
The Limousin comes back to the grandfather of Henri IV, Charles of Bourbon-Vendôme, in 1527 before being united to the royal domain in 1598.
In 1607 Henri IV insures the vicomté of Limoges.
To count 1761 Turgots transforms the region economically.
